boo hoo  so i'm out of luck on this one?... i've never heard the 'tick' sound like you said in the other post, on the passenger side either, when the engine is cold and outside temp is below 5c

well, i've ordered the scanner 1.4.0 anyways, lets see what joy that brings me.

good morning mr dirty monkey (and others), i've made progress!! HURRAHH  re-tried giving +12v to pin 1 of webasto and HURRAAH!! it ran this time (so maybe my batt was down yesterday). and opened the coolant filler cap to check plumbing - there's a steady flow of water comin through. :)

so i guess tha's one step forward.

AND the scanner was ordered yesterday and should be on its way!

question - when i power up pin 1 as above, should the fan inside the cabin run and get the interior heated? interior fan didn't run (this is without enabling the aux heater from the computer as i don't have the scanner yet)?

Parking heater remote start- Enabling

If you let it run for 10-20 mins the interior fans come on. If your coolant is flowing it should get hot. Mine just blow cold and I don't get the coolant circulating, wish I could work out why. I get no errors and it works as it should when it's cold enough. When you've got 12v to pin one it makes no differences whether it's enabled on obc or not as your basically overriding it.

re. ur water not circulating - i've seen a plumbing diagram on one of these posts - that might be of help to you? admittedly its way to complex to my simple brain.. :headbang:

Parking heater remote start- Enabling

With my engine running I get water circulation (jet in header tank) just not when it's running the webasto alone.

so your condition without engine, when you power pin 1 is:
- webasto starts up (u know cos it makes a noise)
- no coolant coming in when you open the coolant filler cap
- cold air from the exhaust under the passenger seat webasto exhaust

if above is all true your webasto coolant pump is possibly not working?

Which is located where? Thermotop z doesn't have one and uses the car water pump to circulate water which works normally when the engine is running as does the webasto when car is running and temperatures are below the threshold. The thermotop c has an additional water pump attached to the front of the heater as per pdfs I posted up earlier.doesnt help that the unit is labelled up as a thermotop z on the front and thermotop c on the side.

Just thought I would post up to say that mine is all working okay. All I needed to do was enable aux heating using BMW scanner. Tested it this afternoon and after 10mins it was still running and putting nice hot air onto the windscreen. Actually really chuffed as I did t expect it work.

Parking heater remote start- Enabling

I'm wondering if my water valve is knackered. Item no 4 below

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mod ... g=64&fg=18

Thing is it works normally when temps are below the threshold. When running 12v direct to pin 1 the heater starts up but I don't get any coolant flow in the header tank
