Hi there and welcome.
If you have TV and no sat nav im surprised as thought they came together, if not then you need a digital tuner to get freeview, not a cheap item even used.
Reverse camera do a search on here there are posts that cover same.
Cheers

Sorry fella i dont know. Most things i have plugged in need to go to the dealers for a reset or similar.
Wait for somebody on here who knows more than me to advise.

One thing i do know is you need the dvd player in the boot as the sat nav runs off the disc, or mine does.

Not quite......

You will need the wiring from back to front, Mk4 nav computer, GPS receiver and recoding of the vehicle systems to use it.

But, quick question, do you have the OEM BMW TV System, or an aftermarket system? Is there any sign of a nav computer having been fitted and removed in the rack which would normally be in the left rear cubby in the boot?

Having the other bits you describe, but no Nav sounds odd - or at least I've not yet come across the combo you describe.

If you're uncertain of what was installed at build (and therefore should be there) you can go to a BMW Dealer and ask nicely if they will let you have/see a copy if the 'build sheet' which lists everything the factory put on the car.

i'd suggest you're better off fiting an after-market head unit which lots of upgraded capability incl touch screen.

the oem sat nav is old school with no post code capability and no touch screen. you'll crash your car if u try to adjust while driving.

not that i've upgraded though.. :)

Got any piccies of the rack?

It's the OEM build sheet you want - from the factory system. They just need the VIN to pull it off the system. What I am musing is whether the original build had them, but there has been an issue since that means they've been removed. If the original build had them then you need a Mk4 Nav Computer with the DVD drive, not the CD version. If memory serves, you would be looking for option 609 at build. I think bluetooth was something like option 644? If your dealer won't play, go to another one and ask would be my suggestion. It's not that I don't trust the Dealers, but personally I have had some bad experiences with my original one - since gone out of business.

What do you see under 'Menu' on the head unit?

I think the 'M' screen you are talking about is the modified 'splash screen' and as that's not found on any OEM discs, discussion on this board is limited for legal reasons.

Your cheapest option will be a Tom Tom, or similar as the OEM Map DVD is around £180 on top of any working drive you can find.

another big decision and cosideration is who you buy from

got to say car-vision.co.uk are second to none when it comes to customer service they are first class

spoke to dynavin.co.uk
and was like talking to a wall so obviously they think thier product sells itself because the member of staff i spoke to , could not have given a flying fxxx
and was only asking a few questions , with no interest in response from them :headbang:

however might have been a one off

so something else to think about!! :D
