Suspention Dis

Post by StewieG » Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:35 pm

Hi,

Anyone got a dis in or around East London. My drivers side rear ALWAYS lowers itself after being turned off, and there is a clear difference between the height on both sides, when I press the unlock button it always brings itself up, you can see it and hear it.

I had the relay sensor in the back put in butto no avail. Next try is the dis system. Can anyone help?

Peace,

Stew

Replace the suspension air bag. If its leaking/split it can't be repaired, if that's the case I would do the pair at the same time. If ride height is same on both sides with engine running and the air pump under the spare wheel is running more often than not and 1 side sinking over night then it's deffo not holding pressure.

Any idea the cost to replace both sides? What does the unit itself cost?

From memory £150ish per air spring. You'll probably get a pair of used ones from partsgateway. If your handy with spanners it's a DIY job, a google search will find the DIY instructions or an hour a side if your going to a garage.

DM,

My vehicle is 2005 so is facelift. So it 2 x part number 1 , left and right. Should I attempt this change, or is it best left to people who know what they are doing?

Try and find the DIY for it. I'm on mobile and can't search too well. Personally if it was me I'd do it myself but I'm not bad with the spanners. I replaced the air compressor on my old 5 series touring. A garage will probably take an hour a side or 1 and a half hours tops. Depends on your skill and tool kit.
