FSR Hegdehog replacement

Post by x5south » Tue Dec 20, 2011 6:13 pm

Merry Christmas everyone :)

I was looking for some info on how to replace the fsr on my 52 plate e53 x5.

I remember reading sometime ago how AW8 had changed his..... cant find the original post :(

If any one has any information on changing the fsr it would be greatly appreciated. I am going away over the christmas period and today the fan decided to not work. Within 2 mins it had fired back in to life although for a period of time now there has been a "whiring" sound.

I have decided to do this my self Friday so would be great if someone could give me a little info on changing as google seems to bring up american links, appreciate that its not a million miles difference although I am sure that there are things to look out for.

I had a quick look on Euro car parts but could not find the fsr on the website. Any reccomendations to where is best to source one?

I will be home a little later and do a bit more research myself, however any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

Sorry - could not find the post by AW8 either. It must have bored itself into the bin

Here is the reference to the post by the way (which indeed was lost during the site transition).

I have just done mine, the link describes the location ok,mine had just one locking tab at the bottom, press it down with the back of your hand and slide it forward with your finger and thumb, the unit has a couple of holes in it that slide over 2 pegs to locate it,it can only go in one way, once you know what you are doing it is an easy job really,
and to clear up any confusion I am a bloke ;)
