Re: Hurray! Hi all
Thanks all, thats a very warm welcome.
Hi Sanj, the RS range from Audi were great cars (if not bloomin expensive at times to maintain!), the silver RS4 in my avatar was my favourite having had it "tampered" with by MTM (Audi Tuners) and was an absolute rapid rocket. I think though since the B7 RS4 they have lost their "soul" a bit and aren't limited in numbers so don't feel that special to me. The RS6 was a cracking car to but prone to suspension and gearbox issues. The new RS4 is a long way off at the moment but it will be interesting to see if they use a ramped up V6 or V8 supercharged engine, I suspect a V8 but supercharged this time round.
Hi 535dboy, as with the above I owned a few RS's and loved them to bits. I see you owned a 535d and thats another car on my "hit list" perhaps you could pm me with your views on a 535d, I'd be interested to hear what you felt about the car under your ownership.
Cheers!
Tom
Are they revamped and even better than the first lot?
Look great....
Sorry thought I had replied
Not yet is the answer
I'm hoping that they will be soon based on the current A4 with the fairy tale lights we all love.
Hoping to be based on the RS5 due in October with an updated V8 engine with an extra 30 odd horses over the old one (so 444 odd). Will also be available with twin clutch box.
I plan to put an order in as soon as they announce it

the 535 was the best normal car I have owned so far as far as I am concerned. I loved pretty much everything about it.
Can't think of many downsides, ride a bit lumpy I suppose, not the best sounding diesel (Audi's V6 is far sweeter)
It was remapped by DMS and it would keep with the last shape RS4 (as I found out on a number of occassions! )
If there are specifics you want to know then ask away

Am I right in thinking they now do a 4 door version of the A5 too - sure I've seen it???
Which one would you go for?
Love the lights, just something different, albeit Audi's seem to consider it a higher priority on their design list than others. I'm a fan.
That box - you mean DSG? If so, that will be a nice car.
Was behind an RS4 Tourer/Estate this morning - had to wind the windows down and listen to it pull away...

Re: Hurray! Hi all
Yes there is a 4 door A5 now. I would have an avant because I prefer the shape and have a dog
Yes dsg box, now called s-tronic. We have it on the TT and it is awesome.
I actually don't mind the lights but part of me thinks they should have left it just for the R8 and maybe RS or S models only

Re: Hurray! Hi all
Avant high on my list as well. Just on an A4, is it not like a 3 series and very cramped inside?

Yes I suppose somebody would struggle to sit behind you I guess but the backs of the front seats are carved out
Fine for me who is short and rarely has rear passengers anymore

Re: Hurray! Hi all
Avant is the estate right?
Point taken and agree the lights would have been better for the top-end models, but heard somewhere (maybe old forum) that this is now becoming compulsory for manufacturers to do...?
That clucth system is said to be one of the best on teh market...
Oh and I was smart for a change, did this posting whilst she was busy thanking the families for their generous presies!

Yes Avant = estate.
It is a it of a lifestyle estate but the dog would fit better in there than a sedan
That is supposed to be true on DRLs you are correct. On the non-xenon equipped audis they have 'normal' bulbs as DRLs. You will see more and more cars with them soon.
It is very good and very smooth the gearbox, and great fun with the paddles when you are on the money
