Does the 2003 X5 3.0D have swirl flaps??

This might be a stupid question but I'm guessing the 2004 facelift models don't either?...

I blame TV's fifth gear, now we are seeing the results of there misinformation,

Even some of the swirl flap blanking plate suppliers think that the E53 has them - simply because most of the other BMW car models that use that engine do (For example our 2005 E46 with the M57TU engine does have them). They've taken the 'one size fits all' approach. One supplier offered to check it for me on my E53 for £150!! Took me 10 mins and cost nothing. All you need is a mirror and a torch to look for the metalwork that moves them, but no they wanted to take half the engine to bits!!

These things are for emissions, and with the best will in the world the E53 is not going to benefit really from these flaps - so they didn't fit them :-)

Wow, every days a school day! So thems is swirl flaps then, I don't have them anyway but felt I was just being left out :)
