WANTED - a bit of silver catbon fibre sheet to shift knob

Post by storminmike » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:17 pm

Anyone got an offcut of silver carbon fibre weave to spare?

My E53 shift knob has worn through and after seeing the discussions on sticky back carbon fibre a big sheet seems way OTT

A bit cheeky but has anyone got a strip left over.....to slip in an envelope?

Thanks....Mike

strangley the bloke at BMW counter raised not one titter when I raised this dilema. I said the end had become all worn and shiny and and insert would be great....to which he said I must replace the whole of my knob....not just the shiny end

He even said it was par for the courseand that all silver knobs go black through excesive use

I remember that but DIY projects got the better of me and sunny days ran out

I'd be scared sh!tless of pulling it all out and not getting it back in again

Can it really be just pulled out as is (in what position d/p/n etc) then banged back in again?

edit....never mind I'll read that thread link again and again....case closed....thanks
