So the current lot ground and retire the Harrier Fleet and leave us with precious little fast air capability for use at sea, and now the whole fleet of 74 aircraft and ALL the spares have been sold to the US Marines - who it is said "are taking advantage of all the money the Brits spent and which gives us a bunch of airframes which are like a low use second hand car with 15,000 miles on them". In other words a bargain!!
So we're left with the Tornado, ageing and runs out of puff too soon, and the Typhoon II which looks pretty and does a nice air display, but costs a fortune and can't do the job properly because it took so long to bring it into service. Even our new tanker fleet is privately owned!! When we do finally get the F35 - it will be overweight, underpowered and far too expensive to use. But then we still won't have a carrier to put them on anyway!!
Oh bl@@dy well done Cameron!! Muppet!!
..............and yes I am having a rant day........

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Sometimes I despair of our politicos
For years we had significant military resources, yet we now seem under resourced at a time when there are various nations & organistaions that could take massive advantage of the gaps in our defences.
Lack of Harrier & carrier capability IMO a big mistake & putting a loyt of trust in support from others at times when allies can fail to agree on military decisions/actions.
