I got my 4s a few days ago, fair play to Orange, ordered it and had it delivered in 2 days. Gladly so far I'm not experiencing any of the problems you've all listed here and I have to say I'm quite impressed with it, the screen quality is mind blowing compared to my 3GS and cant believe how quick it is! Not played with Siri yet, haven't had time so we'll see how it goes.
We're fast becoming the Apple family I'm afraid to say, next on the list is Apple TV and I just need a very small excuse to get an iPad to add to the iPhones and Macs already in the house!
I need to get out more..........
I have to agree compared to 3G it amazing screen quality and zips through web pages. I appreciate that it probably not that ground breaking compared to the 4 but I like it. That SkyGo works really well
Siri is not as good as I expected
Next on my list is Apple TV as well. The iPad will have to wait but that Tesco 0% credit over 6 months is tempting.

Re: IOS5 - what do you think?
I did not buy the Apple TV because of the limitations it had, so bought an Xtreamer instead which allows me to play any format video (including HD) from my media server (as well as internet if need be).

I also decided against the Apple TV and have a couple of the Western Digital Media Player Plus units. Plays everything that the server has presently stored media wise.
Apple TV is just too locked down and limited. But then that's Apple for you.
Runour has it there's an iPad 2+ expected in the Spring now and the iPad3 with retina display around a year from now. Problems with manufacture of the display is being blamed for the delay.

May have to rethink the Apple TV then! Here's a thing then, because hardware is updated/re-invented so often, is there ever a right time to buy or should I just bite the bullet?

Bluetooth in car and jawbone headset working fine. Jason must be hard for you without a headset
As for media server agree with Apple being too locked down for my liking. I use Xbox 360 which is kinda convenient  as the kids use it for kinnect and pretty cheap second hand. Was using a PS3 for this but again the restrictions keep getting worse.Â

I think it's one of those things where there never is a right time. There is nothing other than a full blown PC system that will play everything as codecs and add-in come along all the time. I think the major technology changes are all sorted for now, and decent mediaplayers do get regular firmware updates to keep them abreast of what is going on.
The next big change will be the introduction of '4k HD' which makes 1080P look like 8mm cine film. It really is HD on steroids, but given that there are no domestic displays available, no broadcasts in the imminent future and even the new Canon EOS C300 cameras are expected to cost north of £10k for now, 1080P is the linit.
You can always build yourself a media server (reprovisioning an old pc is fine) and put the Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 on it and then use it to back up everything and as a media source and away ye go! Of course you can go mad and build an 18TB monster server like mine and it holds everything media wise and streams it to PC, IPTV, iPad, Touchpad, MediaPlus.
On a totally different, but sort of connected note, hard drive prices have doubled in the last teo weeks and are expected to double again. All down to the flooding in Thailand. This situation is expected to last well into 2012, so if you are buying bits, that's why the prices have suddenly shot up. 1TB HDDs are now over £100, but were under £50.

Re: IOS5 - what do you think?
Yes, I just bought my replament disks just in time.
I ordered a whole load of new machines for a client, and between quote and order placement (couple of days), the price went up enormously.

Re: IOS5 - what do you think?
Have had my 4S for about 3 weeks now and it is a superb bit of kit compared to my previous 3GS. I agree though that Siri isn't all that as the demo suggested but the I don't talk with an American accent which is probably the problem...lol.
Bluetooth works a treat in the new motor and I even get to use the 4S as an external drive for all my songs, etc through Bluetooth too.
I bought Apple TV quite sometime ago and personally think its great for my needs. Photos, music, videos, you tube all from my phone straight onto the TV so am pleased.

Re: IOS5 - what do you think?
Anyone looking at media streaming should consider an AppleTv, jailbreak it and put on XBMC... works really well so I'm told
As for IOS5.. less than impressed really... prefer the new notifications, played with SIRI for a day (FFS, who wants to use voice commands on a phone REALLY?!)... other than that there's not a lot new. Looking forward to the jailbreak, which will likely be after the Apple update... they seem to be taking longer and longer with jailbreaks now, to the point that you are so far behind with updates that what you gain in the jailbreak you miss out with other stuff in the releases.

Re: IOS5 - what do you think?
I have notice some odd behaviour with Safari on the iPad 1 using IOS5 - pressing the back button can often take the web page back to something from a completely different day or time not relevant to where I had been just moments before. I have to 'Refresh' the page to pull back the right version. Obviously a weird issue with the cacheing system in the device.
As there's no longer a 'Clear Cache' option, only a clear history, or clear everything (which then drops all the logins etc) I don't know where the issue is coming from. I have tried a complete dump of all the memories and a reload but it hasn't solved the problem. Very odd, and very annoying. It's a 'known' bug, so maybe the under test 5.01 will fix it.
Incidentally the iPhone4S & IOS5 are not fully compatible with the iPhone 4 cradles. Some functions are fine, but others don't work properly - more of a problem if you're using the car for multimedia capabilities (if you have such options fitted of course). I got warned by my Dealer when ordering a cradle for the Mini, but the problem is BMW model range wide.

Seemed to only have problems when using the bluetooth head set was turned on
Went out and brought a bluetooth jawbone on the recommodation of one of my mates(thanks joe)which works great
The jawbone works with both my 4s & 4g at the same time
The 4s is now a great phone and I have no problems
