Just started watching 'Top Boy' the week long channel 4 drama depicting life on the inner city streets, and the opening scene showed a Dealer on dealer drug robbery where the bad guys rolled up in a carbon black 4.8is tooled up and stole the drugs from some amateurs in a mk1 golf, then they sped off to the sound of a roaring V8 soundtrack! It made me want a 4.8 is but I just know some of my friends are gonna jump on this, I won't be a soccer mom anymore in there eyes, I'm now a drug dealer again! Nevermind

I think the truth is everyone loves X5s - they are driven by young women, boy racers, mothers on the school run, gangsters, business men, 'normal' blokes and general scum - its such a diverse mix that it's hard to stereo type. Certain mods make it easier to stereotype I guess.

Well I wanted to be first to bring this to the forums attention so I'm happy now, I definitely think if you drive any 4x4 with a badge you get the stick these days, my father in law even gets told he must be 'doing well' as he drives a big 4x4, incidentally a 98 grand cherokee

that owes him about an honest months pay, you just have to laugh it off I guess, still, a bit more e53 content on tonights (Tuesdays) episode so all good, I think it's not got long left to live judging by how the plot is forming, we might have to see it get ruined

I just picked up my new X5 today and drove it home through the streets of East London. After having a TT for the past 2 years I wasn't expecting to turn heads in the X5 however it was a real eye catcher in Hackney and Bethnal Green tonight! Top Boy is pretty gruesome a mix of the movies, Harry Brown and Adulthood. I wonder if I'll get any hassle driving the X5 in the East End, surely not like the hassle which the TT gave me!

I think it's down to the 4.6/4.8 engine. When I had my 4.6 a couple of years ago, even though it was Estoril, even my kids called me a drug dealer. Since getting the 3.0D Sport they just think I'm an old git that drives oil burners. The fact that I also swapped my XKR in for a 535D M Sport perhaps gives their view a little more credibility.

Kids eh???
