Hi,

How much did it cost to sort your injectors out, and what sort of mpg do you get. Dont find many manuals about bit of a rare breed me thinks.

I originally wanted a manual E53, but the Dealer wanted a £10k deposit instead of a £500 deposit. A couple of others I went to took a similar line. None of them wanted to get involved in selling a manual. version so I ended up with an auto. At the time, I think the manual was alleged to do an extra 5mpg over the 6sp auto. At least the manual box would have lasted more than 38k miles before eating itself expensively!!

How's the clutch been? Have you needed it changed?

The manual X5 are the best it cost me around £400 as i needed 1 replaced i did it at my local garage not a bmw dealer it use to do around 24-30 when booting it but now it seem's alot better around 34-39 it has made a big differance it has stoped the smoke and smell, but like i said it drives even better now, they do need doing once and a while

Hi,

Thanks for the info on injectors and mpg. I get around 35 to the gallon which I am really pleased with, I average around 2000 miles a month and have 128000 on the mileage to date. Clutch has been fine (Touching Wood as I type). I was told by dealers when I requsted a Manual version that knowone wants them which then enabled me to have the upperhand when negotiating price. It did take me 18 months to find my car. My criteria was Estoril Blue, Manual, No Sat Nav No TV, Heated Seats. I had to forego the heatedseats but the rest of them were realised.

Regards Jt
