VW Touran vs Vauxhall Zafira

hello all
recently my wife had an accident with her A class and she does not want to drive it after it gets fixed so planning on buying a 7 seater diesel but i am not sure which one to go for.. i am keen to get the Touran but zafira seems like a lot cheaper to get especially knowing that i have to get rid of it in 4 years. anyone have any experience in either one of these? my goal is to get one with diesel engine,automatic transmission, A/C,2006 or newer, heated leather seats, hoping for navigation and maybe sunroof and not a silver one (the color is wife's requirement)...so any input would be appreciated

Zafiras have depreciation faster than the USS Enterprise at maximum warp!

About the only things worse are Renaults or Peugeot/Citroens.

My collegaue has one on a 52 plate and says it is awful, my other colleague has a 60 plate with largest diesel power output engine & loves it. Most colleagues at work with Vauxhalls seem to have more problems than many others. Importantly both of them are A-B drivers & I suspect may not appreciate differences within class of driving dynamics.

Only one way to fin...........not FIGHT ! but test drives.

Personally if after a 7 seater MPV without badge snobbery I would look at the S-Max...........In decent spec with right wheels they look okay & are fairly well regarded by many.

if you want reliability my freinds 1.7dti 02 zafiras done 240,000 miles and going strong, its an x hire car!! they will all be similar on price and all have monsterous deprecialtion!

isn't ford's depreciation as bad as vauxhall? i did think about the ford but never got warmed up to ford vehicles.

Well I doubt any mainstream badged 7 seater MPV will have stong residuals.

I guess the benefit of low residuals could be yours if you buy cheap enough.

That said I cant think of many 7 seaters MPV's with strong residuals.

I have an S-Max and cannot recommend it enough. Go for the 2.2TD Titanium....it proper shifts when you want it to and has a fair amount of toys too.......mine also has a body kit which sets it apart from the normal 'mummy wagon'...............

I omitted mentioning the 7 seat configured E70, (& for that matter Disco 3), as not MPV.
