there not plumbed in, i couldnt be bothered to clean the rear that often, tere welded to the rear of the stock silencers however its a 9/10 diy difficulty took me bout 3 hours cutting and measuring, and same again i very arkward welding, its very hard to get them simetrical as the boxes you weld to are not flat or simetrical well worth it though and by my quotes i was £240 to the good for doing it myself!

Ok the deal is done, the 5 is booked in Monday for 4 hours of surgery for the exhaust mod, just like Shadracks lovely beast but fully plumbed in with the stupid stock silencers removed.

I have 3 sound choices which is novel (differing silencers), quiet, mild sport or sport. I will go for quiet as its a diesel and i purely want the rear to look as it should rather than sound like "Corsa Boy".

My insurance company say's no premium change, the exhaust company says greater power and more MPG, how good is that !!!
I reckon with the fuel saving in about 28 years i will break even

I completely removed the exhaust on my E90 325d and had straight pipes from the turbo back. It wasn't loud in any way, it was eerily quiet but sounded like a jet turbine on full throttle !

Where are you getting the exhausts done as I am only down in Bristol and want to get mine done it would be good to hear yours before I have mine done.
I tow a caravan so dont want anything too loud or you get a drone with the van on the back.

Hi shadrack like the pipes would have liked them on mine but i have a schnitzer body kit fitted,so it would not be easy to cut out the holes for the pipes,
so that will be a no starter this time, so will have to think of something else to do :?

Hi Stew ?,
all went very well 3.5 hours and done, very good job they did to.
Pictures enclosed showing before and after with an "up the skirt job to show how it was done". When you rev the car and your stood behind it you would never believe its a diesal, sounds like a mini v8 :D
Total cost was £294.00 ish, done by Longlife in Thornbury whom actualy built the silencers from scratch in front of me.
Cheers
Paul
