New X1 on way

Post by senwar » Sun Aug 22, 2010 5:26 pm

So, after ordering my X1 back in May, I'm due to pick it up on 2nd September.

It actually arrived on 7 weeks after order after a quote of 12-14 weeks, but I decided to wait until September for the new reg. The car is the following spec:

xDrive 20d
Black sapphire
Red brown leather
Sports seats
Heated seats
Cruise
Sun protection glass
Front parking sensors
Electric folding mirrors
Xenons
USB connection
Bluetooth
Piano black trim

Went to look at it in the compound a few weeks ago so have a couple of crappy iphone pics.

Looking forward to getting it - other than the 1 week I owned the X5, I've not had a 4 door car since 1997!

Yes and BMW offer a TOM TOM/Garmin alternative that fits in their nicely too for £350 odd instead of the big bucks full set up

Nice looking car and look forward to seeing more pics

The wheels look bigger too?

Thanks all. I took a big risk when ordering too as I'd not got a permanent job (took voluntary redundancy in Jan, and was working on a 6 month FTC) but started a new permanent job last week so happy with that!

In hindsight there's a few things I wish I'd have added - autolights, lumbar support and panoramic roof being the main ones.

535 - the wheels are 18's - really like them. They're the same as below:

My last 4 door was a rover 414 (eugh). I then had a vauxhall frontera sport, saxo vtr, vw beetle, TT roadster, Z4 roadster, Z4MC, the X5 for a week, and then the 120d coupe. So this is the first time back with 4 doors.

The X5 - long story short - bought a 3yr old one from BMW AUC and discovered after 5 days it had been previously damaged so was offered a full refund. It was the first used car I'd bought for years (well not totally true as the first Z and the 1er were ex BMW management cars, 3 months old).

Yeah, as 535 also mentions it is.

I love the newer systems but they're just stupidly overpriced. I've got copilot on the iPhone which is good enough.

Then the wheels were options then !? You didn't mention them in your original list of options. Yes they are nice

Oh no don't tell PVR about the Z4MC - he has the hairdresser version

:D

Yeah always forget to put wheels as the option! So yep, upgraded those too. I'm a real stickler for a nice wheel.
