I have the snap-in. I think the benefits include additional control over the iPhone from idrive, album art( I think) and use of the external aerial.

Media package is quite good, must admit I don't use it often.

Internet function here in the UK appears to be so slow it renders it completely useless. I'm trying to work out if I actually have a fault. Dealer so far has been equally useless so will need to take car in at some point.

thanks for share, Sramsay.

I have been the dealer and was told that 85 pounds for snap adapter is totally same as cable connect the usb, so I may leave it until I make sure Iphone 5 can use it as well.

regarding of the internet, I totally agree with you, the internet would be working well in UK even the hotspots are less and slower compared other countries. hopefully, it will be improved by next generation 4G.

How is your car consumptions, my one is 40D, full tank is about 500 miles?

Three different iphone4 adapters!! If you want multimedia then you need the right version which is nearly £200!!! The £85 one only connects to the external antenna and charging system. If you want the album art, video playback and clever bits then the expensive one is your choice. No iphone5 though - wonder what stopped Apple announcing/releasing it?

Internet service is limited to the maximum data rate that your position and the telematics and network can support. It is pretty poor at best as it's running on 2G. Max data rate is much less than broadband and is also shared. It's faster on my own iphone4.

Don't hold your breath for 4G - it needs to be rolled out first!! 3G is far from good. Perhaps the networks should have thought a bit harder before spending £billions on their licences!!! We did warn them not to go mad during the Auction (I worked for the Radiocommunications Agency at the time, and we ran the auction)

USB in the glove box is really to allow you to connect a USB flash drive as your music library - remember you only have about 11GB of the 80GB available to you. The dealers can use it to load updates etc. I use it to charge my Road Angel Vantage :-)
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Apparently the iPhone 4S is the same size so may work okay. Concerned that the iOS 5 release next week may stuff things up!

I have the all singing cradle. I think it cost £150 but may be wrong! You're right, does video too.

Mpg wise, I have the 40d and seem to be getting about that to the tank.
