Wedding X

Post by Rusty » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:44 pm

I had the pleasure of using the X on Friday to take a good friend of SWMBO and mine to her wedding.

Not being the average wedding car we received quite a few Beeps and waves as we went, and the bride to be loved it.

Anyone else done the same?

Wedding X

Post by phill » Mon Sep 19, 2011 8:28 pm

I did my mates wedding last year December 18th, it snowed around midnight on the 17th and his wedding cars got stuck and could not make it, so he phoned me as I had the X5. It's on the wedding video and photo's, had to a quick hunt round and found a bottle of champagne and tied ribbons on the bonnet and door handles, he only gave me about an hours notice, so it was a little difficult, but we managed it, I've got a photo somewhere I will put it on tomorrow.
Because of the short notice I had to keep putting the champagne in the snow to cool it down.
Also took them to the wedding meal and night do, and then back home, who said the X5 is crap in the snow with 20" wheels with normal tyres

I am doing another one next May, so we have had plenty of notice for this one.

Ouch.... Spent hours cleaning the X, in the dark - who is responsible for shortening the days? Was dark about 8:00 pm.

As for the bridal pics, I was that busy sorting things and SWMBO was helping the bride getting ready etc and then joined in the partying we didn't get any pics, but as the photographer is a friend we will get full photo access for nowt. Maybe I can update then :p

Edit: PS did you spot the grills?

No lacquer as I too quite like the satin sheen. I can always lacquer at a later date if I feel the need.

Top ones, prob colour code them in the new 5hep style Sapphire Carbon Black, sorry no, maybe just the Carbon Black lol.

Fabulous looking car and love the grills :D

Am about to spray mine. I've sprayed the pre-facelift ones I bought by mistake(!) and they look great...which will be on sale soon. No lacquer here either :poke:
