Get a ride in an E70 with 20s and sports suspension and then get a ride in the latest generation cayenne and RRS with the same wheels or bigger and then you will find out what bad is and yes the two competitors now handle as well if not better than the E70
Could that not be down to the rfts on the e70 though?
Hi

How you doing ? Wrapped anything recently!???

RFTs are of course part of the problem but I would think such a low profile on 22s over 19s can't really help!

Btw my experience of the competitors is approx 300 miles in the V8 cayenne lent to me for a couple of days and 750 miles in the new RRS lent to me for a weekend.

We have a 2011 X5 on 20" wheels without sports suspension and the ride is fantastic.
It's compliant, yet I detect no discernible lean when cornering. The ride is noticeably better (firm, low body roll) than the other cars we tried (Discovery, Q7, Touareg).

I can only speak for the e53 and that was fine....I would have gone back to 19's as my daughter was only 18 months and my wife warned me "too hard a ride and your selling them" .Sounds like the e70 is way different from what's been said.

So combination of 20s, runflats and sports suspension is the killer then

It does handle well though

lol, no not for a while. After the M3 I wrapped the roof on my 535d, haven't wrapped anything since

19's to 22's just ruined the ride on my e53 is all I can say, and I am not sensitive - every car i've owned has been lowered on firmer suspension with big wheels. Having said that, the X5 is not a sports car and so big wheels with low profile tyres may look good (depends on who you ask on that), but it doesn't drive right. Plus you need higher pressures on low-pro's which only makes matters worse.

I hate RFT's personally, they were the worst thing about my e60. As soon as I put normal rubber on, it was night & day different

It's the same with the Mini. Tried a Cooper S with RFT+Sports Suspension .. it was horrible. Made the M3 seem plush.
Just tried a Cooper SD without both .. night and day difference.

My theory is the lighter the car, the worse RFT's are.
