Hello Fenj66,
maybe your circuit board is faulty.
it seems that your "original" Webasto worked previously, and the PCB failure is common with Webasto.
By changing some resistors on it, you could have a spare PCB.
check this link : http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s ... 7b&t=53896
Also, I noticed that while using a PCB from an E39, you have to manually stop the AUX heater or it will continue to work endlessly.
just as an update on my own webasto problems as mentioned in this thread.
i have just acquired a second hand webasto circuit board from a pre facelift X5d. after using my scanner to clear away any fault codes in the system, the heater now runs ok from the pre selected timer option and the heat on button from the OBC and also from my own remote control (ie, after about five minutes the interior fan comes on to blow warm air at screen). i couldnt test if it comes on automatically at temps below 5*C as its too warm at the moment. so i am pretty happy now! :) it would point, as mentioned earlier, that the facelifts arn't compatible with enabling aux heat, unless parts are changed/upgraded. but a cheap s/h circuit board from an earlier X or E39 webasto might sort the problem out. hope this helps.. ;)
Fenj - just to test my understanding, you have got your Webasto to work via the the OBD (timed and on/off) just by enabling with a 1.4.0 and replacing the heater's PCB - i.e. you have not fitted the 3rd water valve (or resistor substitute) or changed the H&V panel?

hi, yes thats correct, i have done nothing else other than fit an older circuit board to the webasto to replace my fried one.
i might try and fit a resistor in place of the 3rd water valve at some point and see what happens out of interest tho.

As there is no information, I wouldn't like to say.
Maybe try asking them a question re functionality  and see what they come up with in Chinenglish

I like the look of the unit though and may even order one myself to check it out. Worth a punt at that price mate.

Hi
You need to check that the output will latch for a variable amount of time or you will be getting in the car soon. If the output latches continuously then your heater will run all the time until you tell it to stop again with the remote. I have one that latches for different time periods. I think it was 5, 10, 15 min etc. That way it automatically stops the heater and you dont have to switch it off yourself. The wabesto remote does this but very expensive due to it having another control box.

Reading the spec it does say about a latch. That company also had another one no 270790706799. states the output type as The output style:
Self-locking, Non-locking, Interlock
I presume they are latch non latch and not sure what the interlock is. The latch would certainly hold the 12v on the terminal.
I dont know what the other terminal on the heater is for. I am sure somebody will.

hi malc1950,sorry I missed your previous message.

Let me know how you get on, if you get any problems I'll try and help. Although it was quite a while ago I did mine! It's quite straightforward anyway.
