As someone else had mentioned, the Admiral multi car policy could be a good thing. So as I have 5 cars, decided to give it a go and it worked out well for me:
- The M was £244 instead of 540 as per renewal from Churchill
- The X was £193 instead of £330 from Churchill
- The Abarth was £184 instead of £240 from Churchill
- The Polo was £998 instead of £1200 from Admiral single policy (main driver 18 year old, named driver 17 year old ...)
- The Golf - £187 instead of £159 but needed the car on the policy to get the others down. Classic insurance by Admiral not that great though.
Excess £150 (+ 250 for young drivers on the Polo).
Legal insurance included as well as FULL European cover, which saves me the £27 each time with Churchill.
Downside - if you have a claim and it is your fault, you have to use their repair centres unless the BMW quote is similar. In practical terms this means that if I have a major prang that is my fault, I have to pay the difference between their shop and BMW. Risk I am willing to take.
Admiral seems to be going full steam ahead on the multi car deal though. I have checked and can bail out on the next renewal with the full keeping of the no claim discount of all cars).

Re: Insurance renewals
I think as we found, it's a 'no brainer'.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
