Is there anybody there.............????
I can only see one X3 owner contributing to this section thus far & not one F25 X3 owner posting on here to date.
Hopefully X3 owners will emerge at some point.
I never expected a mass X3 forum party, however, considering the thousands of X3's owned in the UK I am surprised there isn't a little more site traffic. Granted it's not the default choice of many a BMW enthusiast, but same could be said for other X models whose owners contribute on here.
Keen this thread doesn't fuel negative discussion re X3 owners.
My intention is to encourage X3 activity on here & not to scare folk away

Re: Making contact......
Strange how few owners log in. I wonder if the owners aren't the type to frequent forums? Same sort of thing over on the BMW Car Club of GB. Lots of activity except on their X Forums which are like
- probably coz we're all over here having fun though

Re: Making contact......
It is a bit quiet here, perhaps other owners have similar ownership experience we had. Best described as uneventful!
Our E83 X3 2.0d SE was with us for two enjoyable years and 46k miles. It was remapped by Superchips which gave it a decent turn of speed and good torque, fuel economy was a touch over 38mpg during ownership. The Scorpion tyres lasted throughout our ownership and still had a few mm left when we sold it. The car was particularly good in the snow we had during November 2010 and January 2011, very sure footed.
Some photo's....
And from the rolling road at Superchips HQ..

Re: Making contact......
Good to hear of trouble free motoring, decent mpg & competence in snow on Scorpions which I assume were STR's not the STR A's.
Looks a great example too.
Was it a manual ?
My E53 X5 ownership in contrast to your E83 ownership has been far from uneventful at times
I don't expect thousands of posts from X3 owners.......clearly not the enthusiast choice &/or a relatively trouble free ownership experience
Looks a great example too.

Re: Making contact......
The X3 did come out miles higher on the reliability list than the X5.
But then again, the X3 was made in Austria and the X5 in USA ...

Yes it was a manual, with the Efficient Dynamics 2.0d. The Scorpion tyres were just STR.
I'd hazard a guess that when the 3.0sd becomes affordable then more enthusiasts will pick it up and participate. That would be some rocket ship, as its fairly lightweight for a 4x4.

Re: Making contact......
You seem to be a fan of Auto Detox. Is there a particular one to choose as there seem to be a number under similar names.
What sort of figure was a full external brush and polish job? Might have it done on mine E71 once BMW get on and sort the paint out, and the E53 & E46 could probaby do with it as they're six years old now and outside most of the time. I'm a bit wary of trying it myself as I know that doing it wrongly can cause severe damage! I know my limits!!
I presume it can be done to older cars as well as freshly minted ones?

There are a lot of detailers and valeters about - Best look at the detailingworld website, most professionals will have a gallery of their work. I'll PM you to avoid taking this thread to OT.

My intention is to encourage X3 activity on here & not to scare folk away [/quote]
One F25 X3 owner emerging here .........
I'm surprised there aren't many X3 owners on here although I still haven't seen that many F25s on the road. We still get a lot of interest in ours.
