In a few days I will have my E53 back after the repair of a gearbox oil leak... As my drive now looks like a dot to dot pattern, whats the best cleaner to use? I plan on brushing it on and jet washing off...
Any info most grateful..
Cheers Greg

What's the drive constructed from?
If tarmac you have to be careful not to dissolve it when using something like Jizer - which has a solvent in it. Some form of detergent is probably your only choice. Hot water/steam is out as it will melt the binder.
With concrete a pressure washer with a good strong detergent, or possibly engine cleaner, sometimes works if the oil is not too deeply ingrained, but bear in mind where the run-off goes. You could always scrub the immediate area and the hose it off. See below for another possible.
Block/Brick paving is a nightmare to clean. Not come across anything that really works without a lot of effort and very hot water. I have seen people try wallpaper steam strippers with absorbent pads on to soak up the oils. No idea how effective that might be though.

I have the Halfords drive cleaner for when I have visiters with leaky cars. I have a lot of black paving and it works well for that (with a brush )

Re: Oil removal from the drive
So called 'forecourt cleaner' as used by filling stations to clean up spillages works extremely well. It's a detergent (with a nice whiff) i imagine any decent motor factors could supply it (5ltr iirc) which rules out halfrauds i imagine.
