Replacing centre armrest cover button

Have purchased a replacement button for the centre armrest lid, part no. 7124139 (item 14 in link above) as the rubberised coating on mine has worn. Had a look but can't for the life of me see how to take the lid apart safely so I can fit the new replacement. Has anyone tackled this successfully already?
