Thanks Graham. I've been in that menu but was looking at the reprogramming button and not coding...or the other way around!
Now I've found it, it doesn't seem to have activated, maybe next time I start the car.

Sanj, the picture is of the menu I couldn't get into, I know what to do when I get there...thanks anyway  :)
Yeh the car will need to sleep before it will take affect. 10 mins should do it

As above. Lock the car and make a brew.

Just thought I'd add to this thead as I've just received my scanner too. Ordered Sunday, arrived yesterday, all the way from China for just over £50 all-in :D

Small tip, search the non-UK ebay sites too. The supplier I bought from had these listed on ebay UK for £29.99 + £19.99 postage but also for EUR 29.90 + 19.90 post. Euros are cheaper than pounds so by going for the EUR listing I was able to get airmail delivery for the same price as surface mail on the UK listing 8)

It took a bit of head-scratching to understand the instructions that were linked to a couple of pages back, but once I realised the required drivers were actually in the program folder and not the ones that it told you to download at the start, it all worked fine. Much more user friendly than INPA. I need to delve into it further though. I expect INPA still has some advantages.

Anyway, well worth the money IMO, everyone who works on their own car should have one.

All i want a scanner for is to enable the following

-auto locking
-audible beep when locking/unlocking
-parking lights to turn on for 30secs or so when locking.

can anyone confirm the above is possible before i invest?

thanks!

The first two, no problem, Not sure about the third.

Are you looking to illuminate the path on your way from the car?

If so it should already be active.

Key out, flash the high beam should keep pathway lighting on for 40 secs.

thanks for the reply mate
well i have a HID kit in my x and to illumiate the drive its sometimes easy to forget to flick the high beam but more importantly my HID kit warns against continual cold starts.

my angel eyes are pretty bright and good enough to do the job, so i was hoping to be able to do it with them automagically.

Does anyone know if this scanner can be used to reset the dash service lights.
I've tried all the solutions available on google, the dash comes up with all the menu options while going through the steps but when switched on again the service lights are on again.:headbang:
I was hoping the scanner would be able to reset these.

Hi there,

Sorry to hijack the thread, does the aucoustic alarm work on pre face lift E53?

I have working INPA & DIS/PROGMAN, it was a complete pain in the a@@e to set up, originally my W7 was 64bit, it would not work at all! Is this perhaps an issue with the PA Soft scanner too?

After a clean 32bit install all was well, just a thought.. :poke:

If you are referring to the arming of the car alarm giving an audible blip then technically NO.
This is an option for USA only and not (technically) legal for Europe models (from supply)
However i think you can reflash the EWS module with usa version but may lose some other functionality.
I managed to accidently get ine to blip when trying to code the thing through Carsoft but took all other options out.
Had to reset ZKE for it to allow other things to work.

If however you are talking about "key left in" audible nag at you until you finally crack and take the things out then yes.

PS
this makes interesting reading (and i do not condone its use, that is at your own risk...)

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)
