Soft close doors - retrofit ?
I've been enjoying my X, happy with all the options but realised should have opted for soft close doors.
Is it possible to retrofit this?

Everything is possible but would probably cost a fortune to retro fit I imagine... Complete new looms, motors, sensors etc...
Would be a bonus if all the wiring is there but hidden and you could just hook up the mechanism and activate on the ECU...
Turks.

Might be, worth asking parts department if there are two versions of JUST the lock. E53's without the folding mirrors and the heated steering wheel had the wiring loom already in there (at least my face-lift or should I say LCI had it)...

Put your chassis number into Realoem on the web. You will need to replace all the doorlocks for starters and they look EXPENSIVE!! Massive great things with motors etc. No retrofit kit in the catalogue, but like the man said, anything's possible at a price.
I waiting to find out how much it's going to cost to add the full 6NF option, and possibly 6NR. And that won't be a BMW fit, because they say it cannot be done. Actually it can, but it's fiddly to do and they're not interested.

Thanks guys, going to ask parts department if they can get parts for me and what will be the price. After that will see how much the job would cost....

I reckon at least £1k!! Something to be aware of with BMW is that they can take the stance that as your vehicle was not already fitted with these parts you can't have them!! They certainly play that game with our 3er. If there's no official 'retrofit' kit then some dealers will play by the book which means you can't even have the bits that would comprise a retrofit kit. My Dealer is being forced down that line with the 6NF - Smartphone Integration - by BMW GB. So I'm getting it from Poland

He's just checking that the wiring is right now that BMW have finally released the required media adapters. He wants to check that what he thinks is right really is. Once that's sorted then I think the plan is that I get the Dealer to fully update the firmware build in the car and then plug in the bits. I think it needs a USB connection from the Combox and possibly power to the CIC, change the phone baseplate and put the adapter on and Bob's a relative.......at least that's the theory. Sounds easy but this is a BMW after all!
I think he is also exploring whether full internet can be enabled on vehicles with Assist and the Combox that was listed up to 04/2011. Awaiting events as they say......
