BMW 'M' Division considering Diesel power
BMW 'M' Division considering Diesel power
An article in this week's Auto Express reports that BMW engineers in their 'M' Division are now considering fitting diesel engines in 'M' cars. The driver for it is that 70% of all 1er sales are diesels. I wonder how much torque these engine magicians can get out of a straight 6 3.0d then, and what models they might go for to become 'MD', or whatever they'll identify them by, versions?

Re: BMW 'M' Division considering Diesel power
This is really interseting but i'm sure that they will under engineer them so that they don't outsell the petrol versions.
I would be very interested in a Diesel 'M' BMW!
This could also spark the likes of Audi doing an 'RS'D etc etc
Turks.

Re: BMW 'M' Division considering Diesel power
Would never ever sound like a petrol though, regardless of power or torques!!!!
Has to sound right for an M
