[quote=""X5Sport""]Being a 'performance' car the ride is firm but that means the handling is excellent. In terms of tyre roar, yes there is a bit and it is a little noisier on the Style 214 20" wheels with the Dunlop tyres than the Style 168 19" set with Pirelli winter tyres that I also have. That's not to say it's bad or annoying though. Just turn up the audio system a bit

I think it's a general thing with run flat tyres that the stiffer sidewalls do transmit more noise.
What spec have you chosen?

Richard,
Thanks for the heads up about the runflats - My first foray into BMW ownership, a 120d Sport had run flats and spent a few pounds changing to different manufacturers and then in the end choosing to go the non run flat route - Which did improve the steering alacrity. My 5er was specced with 172M wheels so didnt have run flats, and the X3 had all season tyres. Best of the bunch was the Alpina on Michelin PS2's - the steering feedback wasnt far away from that of the hot hatches I had during the 90's.
Any feedback as to longevity of tyres on the X6 (if driven with a modicum of restraint)? 15k-20k miles?

My dealer and I missed what was then option 6NF (smartphone audio) so I am just awaiting the completion of testing of a kit being put together in Poland by a BMW Expert and that should enable the full 6NR option as well. After that then it's the 50i tailpipes (which I think should be a factory option!).
Is it a guy called Patrick (or the polish variant of the name) thats got a software and hardware fix - Ive seen his name mentioned on a few US based BMW enthusiast forums?
