Roof Rail flaking paint eek!

Post by UrbanFlow » Sat May 14, 2011 11:24 am

The paint on one isolated part of my driver's side roof rail has started to blemish and now flake off.

Does anyone know if this part of the roof rail separates (so I can just buy the foot part) or is it all one unit?

Also, If I decide to paint it myself, any ideas on a paint/colour/finish I should use?

Thanks in advance.

Here's a pic - yep the car is mucky and covered in tree sap at the moment but it's getting a full waxing this weekend!

Fella,

Take rubber covers off ends and inside edge of centre mount, remove torx bolts and centre part can be removed to repair. There is a bolt upwards through centre block, bars removed first. I have repaired mine in the past, use quality etch primer and satin black to finish!

Easy job!

They aren't too hard to remove and you can just spray them up yourself if your handy with a spray can. Alternatively just buy a new pair if your feeling flush.
