Excellent tyre company backed by great service....

Post by Lee_thefirst » Fri May 06, 2011 7:58 pm

Hi

If like me you suddenly need 3 tyres but are in no position to spend £150-200 per tyre, I found a cracking company on Ebay that sell part worn tyres.
I paid £35 including delivery for a Pirelli Zero 275/40/20 with 4.5mm even tread and no repairs, I even received the tyre next day.

Company contact details:

Ebay name - amk2103
Company - Q Car ltd
01159338733
07773773121 (Andrew King)

I know there is no comparison to a brand new tyre but the information is to help people who are in "a needs must" situation.
I have no connection to the company but thought this info may be useful.

Thanks

That is a great price. Good find mate.

I need to replace my tyres very soon.. I only put Diamaris on in Jan 2010 and not even 10,000 miles later the centres are heading for the indicators!

I prefer the same tread depth and tyre make across an axle so this won't work for me but as you say, in a desperate situation this is a good contact!

Thanks for the info Lee  ....the more options we have to keep these beasts on the road the better i say ;)
I normaly only buy new tyres in general but as it has been mentioned on here several times before everytime you buy a new car (second hand) you are effectively buying four second hand tyres ;) .... Yet some say they would never buy part worns

Just over £100 on all 3 tyres has got me through the MOT and I can run on these tyres for the next few months which allows me to save some pennies to buy a new set of four :D

Nice find mate.

My rears are both worn right down on the insides, thanks to the camber no doubt.

Will be looking to replace soon so might have a look at this place as £500 for a new pair ain't pretty!

Yeah I know, not been the best £630 I have ever spent on two rear tyres... I was a diamaris man and 50% of me still wants me to keep them on the Factory tyres but as all four need replacing soon I might go for Toyo?

If the centres are wearing sounds like you may have them over inflated Turks. If the edges wear then they are under inflated.
I have got Toyos all round and think they are an excellent tyre.

Cheers Ken,

All my tyres are at 32psi so i'm not sure what the problem is.

I'll look at the Toyo's all round next time home I think.

i run diamaris tyres also, and i too find that even keeping the tyres at the recommended 32 psi, the centre grooves wear down to the indicators much faster than the surrounding rubber.

Is 32psi recommended? I have a 4.8 and the sticker on the door says 2.0 bar in front and 2.3 in rear under normal load conditions - 2.3 bar I think is 33psi...?

I'm sure mine are slightly higher than that and are wearing evenly across the width of the tyre.
When I get the chance I'll check them and post on here.
