I think this is turning out to be very interesting. Definitely a 'watch this space' thread :D

The engines themselves ought to be able to run on biofuel, but I guess the manufacturers have to hedge because of the wide variations in fuel that comes from bioreactor systems and they can't test everything for not breaking the engine or its fuelling systems.

As has been said, filters and lines are a straightforward fix. Fuel pumps and injectors not quite so, and we always used to have 'Winter Diesel' in years past - maybe we still do but it's not publicised - but newer cars have fuel heaters in the pumps/system.

Is there an international specification of what B100 has to meet in terms of standards and chemistry?
