Pollen filter.

Post by philip600 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 3:03 pm

Hi,
Can someone confirm ( or not ) that the airflow through the pollen filter is from bottom to top ?
Swapped mine today & this is the way the old one came out but noticed it will actually fit in the slot either way ?
Thanks, Phil.

Looks like bottom to top if I'm reading Realoem correctly. The filter is slanted downwards at the back and if so then the flow is from the downward facing side to the upper facing side before going into the car through the two big pipes. Does that make sense?

Diagram is here....http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=64&fg=10

Hi,
I just wanted to check as there's nothing to say the person who replaced it last time got it right ( BMW ;) )
It's stamped on the filter which way the air flow should go but not which way up it goes. Your description makes sense to me & confirms it was in correctly.
Thanks again.
Regards, Phil.
