towing with 4.4 auto
towing with 4.4 auto
I towed my caravan back from storage compound to home today about 10 miles. having never towed with an auto before i wondered if this is normal. the car seemed to be struggling for the right gear especially on inclines the revs fluctuating between about 2-3000 rpm, i ended up knocking it into manual. it this right when towing
Re: towing with 4.4 auto
Never towed either so can't say.
My thoughts would be that at that sort of RPM you would have plenty of torque to be pulling but if it is going from say 2500 RPM in 3rd to 1700 RPM in 4th it could be that the speed you were going just didn't quite hit the right power band in 4th so it dropped back to 3rd?
A gearbox reset might be worth trying?
Turks.
