Warranty Direct - can i start claiming? :)

Post by x5matt » Fri Apr 22, 2011 8:34 pm

Hi guys

Can anyone help please?

As from my previous posts, i took out the full WD warranty 3 months ago. Wear and tear restriction (3 months) ended on April 15th.

I was thinking of getting some work done now :D is it as simple as just booking in and getting the work approved and then done?

has anyone gone down the route of 'going crazy' after the 3 months? and how are WD? or it is difficult?

Jobs i am thinking of getting done are -

1. Rear subframe bushes
2. Drop links (front)
3. Front bushes
4. CV boots

what do you think guys?

many thanks

Their policy states 'after 90 days' soooo....

BUT I may need to be corrected here but are bushes not considered normal wear and tear?

Otherwise, just ask.

I thought bushes were wear and tear items too. You will still have to pay the diagnosis charge and excess, but that will probably be less than the repairs. Sometmes WD are pretty good, sometimes not. A lot could depend upon how the repairer 'phrases' what needs doing.

I thought the full WD policy covered wear and tear items after 90 days. That's what I was told when I took out my policy with them.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies , this was my concern. When i took the policy out i took out the FULL cover only for this reason. I did not want to be in a situation where i had to argue with them each time to get anything done.

they did tell me that total failure was covered from the very first day, so for example if the gearbox went the next day then i would be covered but wear and tear would come into affect after 90days.

I did ask the question regarding the subframe bushes as you all know labour is not cheap on these, the first couple of times they did not even know what they were!!! then spoke to somebody who did know and he told me the bushes were not covered, so i would have to pay for them but the labour would be. i dont mind this as the labour is the real cost.

I did want to go crazy and get all the 'niggles' i have with the x done as i am planning a drive to Italy via france @ end of july, just wondered if anyone had some real life experiences of WD.

is there a an appraoch that i should take when i call them or just say ' ' i want this that and the other done asap pls'?

many thanks
