Folding Mirror Fix Garage?

Hi guys,
so im not brave enough to attempt a folding mirror fix on my X, please feel free to laugh at me!

I called BWchiptune but theyve said they would only do a whole unit replacement.

Does anyone know of a good indy garage in london where i could get this done please?

My symptoms.... right mirror folds in clicks and then folds back out.

Have a go yourself... whats the worst that could happen?? If you can't fix it then you take it to someone who can and give them the contents of your wallet. Sometimes with problems like this, they just need taking apart and cleaning.

The hardest part is taking the cover off the back of the mirror. There are guides with pictures available to do this.

You learn something everytime you have a go even if you can't fix it... you learn how not to do it

is there a super idiot prrof guide you can think of?
most of the ones ive found look a little tricky..... and involve glue?

Folding Mirror Fix


For me, I would open it up first and have a good look to check the condition of them. You could even maybe get somebody to try pressing the button to fold them in while you are stood over the mirror to see what is going on.

It may just be a case of adjusting the arm so that it pushes the switch correctly. You might just have to put a spot of glue on to hold it in the correct location. If a spot of glue and a little adjustment of the arm works then put some more glue on for good measure. Test and test again.

If you have no luck with this then see how much it is to get new micro switches... fit them yourself.

I would persevere with the ones I had though until I was certain that I had tried everything.
