It'll be well worth the wait - PM bullethead, he'll let you know how his was when he had it done.

Make sure you're fully aware of how yours feels right now. Then you have a good comparison.

What speed it changes gears, the poke you get from the current pedal response, etc. THEN you'll have a good idea! Oh and keep an eye on the mpg too.

And a good remap will only show it's true colours if the car is mechanically sound.

Good luck and keep us posted!

The 4.8 was corking after Jason had his way with it. I could have gone more aggressive but mpg would have been more non existent.....lol

I amjust having a lot of engine work done at the main dealers on my 4.8is. Once this is done and I have put some miles on it then I think I am going to have a drive down the motorway to see him. A remap should see me pleased with the car for another couple of years.

Re: Re mapping my 4.6iS - UPDATE!!!

Hi Guys

Just got back from Jason's workshop with the biggest grin you'll ever see.

First off I would like to thank Jason and his side kick Raj for the warm welcome

They checked the car out for any problems and faults before continuing. All good, also asked them which tyre sensor was giving the problem (front left) so I can get that sorted out.

After downloading the map, Raj took me out for test drive. Got onto a quiet empty road , well all I can say is OMG!!!!! the flat spot on take off has totally gone and the Torque through the gears is unreal, you can hardly feel/hear the gear changes. Totally speachless
I don't know who was more excited me or Raj

All in all i am VERY happy on what Jason as done to my X, I still can't believe what a differance in drivabilty and that TORQUE has made. Well worth the trip across London. They also threw in the door lock closure and the alarm beeps.

If your in two minds in Re mapping......don't be, give Jason a call, it's the best thing you will do to your X

Jason...........You the man :D :D

LOL! You got to meet Raj - what a character, right?!?

He's a lovely guy with all his street talk!

Glad the car feels great! Keep an eye on the fuel eco, see what you get now, Jason has always been able to get a bit more out of 'em!

I love the look of the 4.6is & am sure it's even better to drive now it's been sorted by Jason. :)

Did you go for mild (best mpg), wild (best performance) or dynamic ( a bit of both worlds) ?

Any mpg report or consumption difference noticed ?

I just wanted more torque and a smoother gear change and not to aggresiv, so I decided to go for optimun settings (dynamic). Jason did advise me I should at least save between 1-2mpg which is ok by me as it's a petrol engine. the throttle responce is unreal.

I think the only way we will save mpg is if the price of petrol came down

I will update.

Thanks

What was the impact on your insurance? How much difference does a remap make to the cost?
