Funding

Post by Pewters » Sat Jul 31, 2010 5:31 pm

I'll be honest here as i have very little idea of how a forum is run but i know it costs money............just a thought as some forums have a paypal option for donations and i'm sure most would be happy to send a few ££££ every now and then.

Hi Pewters,

I guess I really should introduce myself, which I will post in a minute, but in answer to your question running a community "the right way" does require funds, and while some of the costs are saved in the fact I have some pre-existing infrastructure, re-investment in the server is always necessary. I have added a donations button to the header of the site for those who would like to contribute. This is by no means something anyone should feel obliged to do, but as anyone running a forum will tell you, every little helps and donations are very much appreciated.

I'll make a separate thread to make a proper introduction :D

Cool Jim

When we had nowhere to go there did seem to be lots of people wanting to help, this just gives a little back for the time and effort put in running a forum for everyone.........just my opinion ;)

Thanks, like I said it is not something I will "promote", especially with the economy on its arse like it is, charity begins at home etc, but the link is in the header now for anyone who would like to help.
