My rear drivers side window hasn’t worked on the switch for years but does when using the drivers switch. Swapped in a spare switch, no joy, so though it must be a wiring issue in the door so always ment to get round to it but never did. When watching a utube video someone said to programme it by opening with drivers switch then hold down the rear window switch for 15 seconds, close with drivers switch then hold rear switch up for 15 seconds. It now works perfect. Who would have believed it.

I think there are similar tricks with the electric steering wheel adjustment and sunroof from memory. Battery changes can mean they need to be re-taught the ends of travel.
Glad it was a simple fix though.

Amazing, as has been said these cars and many other Marques have little tricks to resolve things like this....Mmmm I wonder if people have these things go wrong and the dealerships know the solution...get the car in and do the trick...charge the client £xxx hourly rate and £xx part for a 10 minute fix...bet they do!!!

You mean like the fuel pump relay on my E53. £10 part with £270 labour / diagnostic to find the (well known) issue.
If the fuel pump didn’t start (it didn’t) then the relay (above the fuse box in the glovebox) was the first thing to check - it was that common back in the day.
