E70 ride height warning
I've ironed out quite a few issues the budget car had when purchased. The AC was regassed this morning it was literally empty i was told. Its now a nice comfortable place to sit.
In other news, the rumbling osf wheel bearing was replaced yesterday, so, nearing the end of expenditure, i thought. The car was obviously lifted on one corner yesterday and there have been a few brief warnings of ride hight popping up on the binnacle. It pinged several times earlier but has now disappeared.
I recall well the BMW health check report (prophets of doom) from its airbag visit, it detailed a bodged sensor repair on one side. So, maybe I should just replace both? Is this a DIY job, where are they located and OE parts or good alternatives? I couldn't find any YT tutorials.

I had the nearside rear sensor playing up some time ago brought 2 new sensors (just in case) when I jacked up the car and took off the wheel I found the nearside sensor wiring had had a bodged repair (crimped connectors). I cut them out and inserted a small piece of cable and soldered the joints now protected by heat shrink sleeves, should have checked first still as long as I have the sensors the ones on there should be OK
Whole job took less than an hour

I dont want to be heaving wheels around at the moment. The sensors are up top somehwere, only accessible with the wheels off?

The rear ride height sensors are around the height of the hub centre at the back of the wheel arch with a ramp you could get at them from underneath but I don't have that luxury
So wheel off was the only sensible way to get at it, removing the plug was a faff due to road dirt and crud clean and clean again ? once the plug was off one of the crimped connectors fell off so the problem was obvious. The sensor are held on by a 10mm nut at its knee joint and 2 8mm bolts, so simple to remove if you need to. The fiddly bit was soldering the repair definitely easier with a ramp (I wonder if the wife !! No I wont go there)

Could you point me to the sensor type? As ever there seem to be numerous options, many looking quite different to others

Here are a couple of pictures pinched from the net one of the nearside sensor and one from realoem

Thank you, much appreciated. Searching a well known auction site, i can only find left side height adjusters. Is there only one or a pair?
Getting quite involved now. Sorry for the banal questions,

one each side but I believe the actual part is the same left and right only the mounting bracket differs

Ah, that would explain it. I am indebted to you.

You are probably looking at a front one , one on the left side front and one each side on the rear so 3 sensors in total

Not sided as said.

I appreciate the confirmation. Curious why so many sellers state left side without reference to them not being handed.

Same part left and right as said above no sensor at the front on mine only 2 at the back the. I believe the Footwell module uses the rear sensor signal for Headlamp levelling

Is it just my local dealership who never seem to answer their phone in any department. Its infuriating
Still some uncertainty in my thoughts. The part number so kindly provided, when entered into RealOEM shows it as a headlight level sensor not a ride height sensor. The schematic looks the same as shown here but i wonder why the different, and to me slightly confusing descriptions? I can see that they probably mean the same thing.
They also appear to be circa £90 each. Ill be looking carefully at non OE stuff at those prices.
