Battery Suggestion?

Post by Xman » Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:50 pm

I am looking for a new battery for 2004 BMW X5 4.4I 5-Speed. What is the best option of a maintenance-free lithium battery for my car, the more power the better.

Battery Suggestion?

You need to check whether lithium is appropriate as the charging characteristics are different and the E53 doesn’t have a battery management system such as was fitted to the E70 and later models.

The OEM battery is (or should be) an AGM type.

I’ve used both Exide and Yuasa on my BMWs with good results. A good supplier is Tayna Batteries as used by members on here.

A couple of my friends have also recommended Tayna and this is my first option at the moment. Thanks

I changed the one in my X6 a few weeks ago. Lasted 6 years and was just starting to show its age. Replaced like for like.
