Electric steering column not working

This is the link to Realoem page for the E53 (in this case my 2005 3.0D as I still remember the last 7 of the VIN). If you put this numbers into the Serial Number box it brings up your model.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgr ... _30d&mg=52

From there I selected the seats subsection:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... Id=52_2523 and selected Item 4 (marked Ended’) which took me to:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?i ... 1304318624

and it has a ‘Superseded by’ part number that takes you here:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?i ... 1317119868

I’ve been using Realoem for years now. It used to be updated with every dealer update DVD, four times a year, but that’s now all Dealer only access online. That means Realoem hasn’t been updated beyond December 2019, but it has the right numbers so gives everyone a chance of finding parts. Sadly anything made after 2019 is no longer available on this reference site. What it also can’t tell you is whether that part number is still available in 2025, but at least it’s a starting point for searches.

Hopefully this might help you a bit.

Thanks for your help. I’ve put that part number in on eBay and there’s around 10-12 for sale from £15 -£50 so definitely worth a punt. I’ll keep you updated.

The Range Rover one is the one i got for mine half the price of one from a BMW.
Didn't pay a lot for it from that auction site we all know.
