Assistance with Ride Height Sensors
Needing some assistance with. my 2016 BMX X5 (F15). I have been looking into issues with my ride height sensors ever since having it towed. I had my back 2 replaced but using my scanner, it it stating that the front right sensor is not reading and may be defective. In trying to locate the sensor, I can see on the front left that it is mounted on the top of the upper control arm but lookng on the right I do not see the sensor. So questions are, should there be one on each side in the front? And if so should they be located and mounted the same? Looking at a diagram it seems to possibly contradict that it is the same location but I cant tell.

What are you scanning it with.
I bet it's not bmw kit is it.
Have a look in realoem for the parts and numbers.
I am sure my car only has 2 of them at the rear but mine is a very old one so could be wrong.

The front sensor is for headlight levelling I think as the x5 generally only has 2 rear level sensors .

Ok the headlight leveling would make since. I have a scanner from Xtool specifically for BMW models. It reads the rear to sensors but when trying to adjust the ride height it mentions not being able to get a reading from the front right which made no sense to me.

Strange one.
Never had a problem with the height just one sensor failed.
Changed it and all was well after.

Some X5's have air bags on all 4 corners make sure your reading single axle ride height not two axle. May not be relevant but worth a check

Good point above i didn't think of that as i only have rear bags.
