My 2017 x5 seems that the heated mirrors have stopped working both together, I understand they have a phased control ie: outside temp dependant 100/75/50/25%.
Today at -2C they did not come on. What should I be looking for is it a fuse or the mirrors themselves ( strange that they both fail together)
Any help gratefully received.

Check fuse F22 in the front power distribution (fuse) box. It should be a 7.5A according to the wiring diagram. If the mirrors still move then the issue is elsewhere.
Heater control is via the Body Domain controller via a green/yellow wire. Module is behind the drivers side footwell side trim kick panel. Temperature sensor also connects to it so if you are seeing the External temp then the sensor is OK.

The mirrors move as they should do and the external temperature is displayed as normal I did not check the fuse as the drive is 6” deep in snow and ice, we had a fair load on Monday night, even at -3C the mirrors never got warm to the touch. I will investigate further when the snow goes.

If I’m reading the wiring diagram correctly then the fuse covers all functions. It’s the only one listed, but sometimes local markets have subtle differences. There should be a fuse card with the fusebox. Often folded up inside the cover.

I know the F25 is a different car, but this might be worth considering............
The passenger mirror stopped dropping when reverse gear was selected, and the heating element also stopped working. The mirror adjusted as normal with the door switch. I don't know if both happened at the same time because we weren't getting frosts when the mirror stopped dropping. A scan with my iCarSoft unit only brought up an unspecified LINBUS error.
When I finally got fed-up of the mirror not dropping, I bit the bullet and bought a new motor. Not only did it fix the reverse drop issue, the heating started working again.

Even if it was a fuse , fuses tend to blow for a reason , a reason could be that the cigarette lighter has say had something fall into it like a small coin causing a fuse blow and it is one of the circuits covered by the mirror fuse. If something like the heating element has failed in one mirror etc the new fuse may well blow again. We are assuming to both were actually working as during the summer you would not know and one may not have been working for months now the other has failed. I know a heated mirror glass for an e70 wit dimming mirros was a silly price like 600 quid , mine had been replaced with a normal mirror glass which didnt plug in which is why one of mone didnt work , I bought a used mirror of correct auto dimming type to get the correct glass and it worked luckily for £100
