F85/86 owners, your help, please
I've searched everywhere i can think of without success. What does your tyre pressure door jamb sticker say for 285/40/20 winter tyres?

Where did you find that? Thank you, copied and filed. Interesting the rear is a lower pressure on winter non runflats than summer runflats?
I had guessed at 2.5 bar, but had used that all round. I need to deflate the rears a bit. I know the F86 is heavier than an E71 but its as good as i can get it i think.

Imo on non runflats at 32psi on an e70/e71 you are going to get a lot of inner edge tyre wear , I ran 38 to 40 psi on my winter 20's and they wore perfect

Noted and thank you. But if suspension geometry is set correctly, why would there be edge wear as opposed to over/under inflated wear? The summer runflats are wearing spot on evenly, so the car is set up correctly.
Given what these ☆ Pirelli winters cost, I'd obviously like to make best use of them by getting the pressures right .

Many BMWs scrub the inner tread area. It was really common on the E53 rear. I run my E71 at slightly above what the plate says and the wear is even. Has a 4-wheel laser alignment done as recommended on here, and the rears were out. They often come from the factory that way, as in towards one end of limit rather than centred.

Mine was laser aligned a while ago when i had the current Continentals fitted, as i said, they are wearing very evenly. I think i'm going to go with the figures shown above 2.5F & 2.2R.
As i noted, an E71 is apparently 80 kilos lighter than an F86 so its still an elelment of trial and error.
My E53 never once in years of ownership scrubbed the inside rears. Michelin Diamaris were good tyres and that car was also laser aligned.

Runflats can stand up with no air , ordinary tyres cannot so it stands to reason the pressure would need to be higher to compensate for that , if I've read correctly you are going to ordinary tyres is that correct? ran the first fronts when I got the x5 at 32 and they lasted 5k till the outer edges were completely gone and they always looked flat ( which they essentially were ) next set at 38 psi and 23k so far covered ( ordinary non runflats)

I am copying the F86 factory winter wheels package. The tyres for that are non runflat but ☆ rated Pirelli's. I have the correct type 611 wheels too, so its all kosher. The tyres are 285/40/20 all round, so a bit taller than the original runflats.

Do I take it you’ve bought one then? Might have missed the message

No no, my E71 is my final ever car. Id like another V8 before i pop off, or have to give up driving, but its impossible to justify.
