I would expect to get all HD stuff, it is after all the bushes that are HD and they should all be as advertised. After all you bought hd so you don’t have to visit that area for a long time.

That was my expectation too but the response from the seller was...."This is a Meyle HD kit and all the parts come with a 4 year guarantee. However Meyle do not make all the parts in HD but will still honour the warranty for this kit".

I double checked with another reputable supplier and they confirmed same.

I just joined the e53 m54 club.

I think the suspension needs an update and just read through the posts, I know the kit I need to buy, but there are two questions I need to know first:

1. I would be doing work while car is parked on the road. Do I just jack the car up on the side I’m working on? Is is there a better method?

2. What tools will I need to complete the project?

You may want to source a copy of the BMW Technical Instruction System (TIS) manual from on line auctions as there’s no UK version of a ‘Haynes Manual’. There is a US published manual - the Bentley Manual - but only covers LHD models. A lot will depend upon whether you want to replace the air suspension with coil overs (Raj did this many years back on his superb 4.8is), or just change the air bags.

The versions of the TIS are now a few years old but most likely still relevant and not expensive. It will give you some clues as to what tools you might need, and what processes you must follow. There are folks on here who have found ways around needing actual special tools.
