Knocking while driving

F15 hybrid, while calm driving ( not accelerating) happens knocking , engine shutting down and driving on electricity. Need to stop and start engine for continue driving
What can be the problem? Thank you

You are going to need to get the fault codes read out to see what is being recorded by the on board computers. Could be a number of issues. We don’t have many BMW hybrid owners (if any) on the forum and I’ve never seen any requests for help (until now).

One note of caution is not to try and diy the electrical side. The voltages of the drive battery can kill if not handled with great care. There are also very specific procedures to make the car ‘safe’ to work on.

I was at 3 shops an no one give me codes. Everyone say its shoving transmision problem. Thats why i write here because no one give me answer. Somebody say it can be clutch, another say is chain on engine, another say it can be starter alternator. So i m confused, don’t know what to change. Thank you

Take it to a proper BMW Dealer and get the codes from them. From what you’ve written, the three shops that you’ve taken it to don’t have a clue.
