I will start, locally I'm getting around 19-22 mpg
Longer runs have seen anything between 30-34mpg
One occasion managed 38mpg.

I was getting similar on my 35d, but what a brilliant engine the M57 is.

I imagine the eight speed gearbox must help with economy? The later N engines seem to be more problematic.

Around town my 40d gives 27mpg. Motorway runs at ‘approved’ speeds yields around 35mpg. The difference was supposed to be around 10-15%. The key with the N-series is to ignore the extended oil change interval. Mine is done annually now I’m doing less that 10k in the X6.

My f15 x5 40d has averaged 33.19 mpg over 42.5k miles since we bought it with around eighteen miles on it, (according to Fuelio), that included a good number of 2 ton caravan towing duties initially, although that has dropped in the last year, as we now store the caravan at one CV of our favourite sites.

My F25 30d has averaged 36mpg over 50+k miles. I try to keep any short (sub-5 mile) trips to an absolute minimum. 40+mpg on a motorway run averaging near 70mph isn't unknown. When I was working (retired now) my commute, 2 or 3 days a week, was 10 miles each way, and I usually got over 30mpg.
You can check my Fuelly by clicking on it in my sig.

I think the N series is more fuel efficient with the addition of the 8speed auto, it's a great combination.
With the N57 ideally service it every 6k to 8k miles.
I don't think the really wide tyres help the economy, but I would rather go with the wide tyres and take a hit of a few mpg

I'm sure we've had at least one other thread on this subject.

No recent images, but these are from when it was new. Fitted with Style 214 for Summer and Style 168 (I think) for winter…

I’m sure you;the right about the wheels making a difference. For my i4, if I chose the 20” option that takes 50 miles off the range, hence it being fitted with 19”. No idea what its real mpg is though. The book says 96 mpge. The car itself says 4.1mi/kWh in summer, 2.9mi/kWh when the temp is about -5°C.

Your X6 looks really nice. Great colour combo, they are a sharp driving SUV.

That's a very substantial difference 50 miles.

Today I've driven 440 miles from Bodmin back to our home on Tyneside. A30, M5, M42, A42, M1, A1(M). According to the OBC (which is usually no more than +/- 0.5mpg) I've averaged 61mph and got 43.2mpg.
