Update.
A ha! I have the Audi back. Nothing wrong with it at all.
So, dirty oil was poured into the coolant tank, one injector was unplugged and also the air flow meter was unplugged but left looking like it was connected. Oh, and dirty oil squirted up the exhaust tailpipes.
I’ve driven it about 80 miles already with no trouble. The cost? £380 plus a large tip for taking it and storing it for us.

Good news on the running front, but a £380+ bill when you were trying to sell the car is definitely not good.

£400 is £2000 cheaper than the garage originally started quoting at.. The wife’s happy and that’s all that matters.

Glad it is sorted out and all is ok.
I wounder what reaction we would get if when they turned up to look at the car and we ask them to pose for a picture and some ID to take a picture of.
Me if i went to look at a car i would think it strange but be ok with it.
Still not got round to putting my e90 up for sale.

Well that's the plan when I get potential buyers on any of the cars. I'm not allowing any more than 2 persons on the driveway and myself and someone else who I know will be on them at all times. I will make them aware that they are being recorded on cctv as well.
The wife drove 200 miles in it today no probs.
I've been watching YouTube videos on it and I found a guy who was selling a Jaguar and what happened to him is eerily similar to my experience. He mentioned that before they viewed the car they called to make sure that the engine was cold and I remember one of the guys saying that to me.

I wounder what they would say if we asked for the money first and could have it back if they didn't want to buy.
