Using Resler with Navcoder

Post by ITBarbie » Wed Mar 23, 2011 11:09 pm

A lot of people are unsure of how the Resler with Navcoder works so I have decided to complete a How To as it may help someone

Image

This is the Resler Interface

Image

This is the IBus cable in your car that is normally located at the back of the CD Changer if you have one installed

Image

This is where you connect the IBus to the interface

Image

When you have downloaded Navcoder and opened the application (after you have connected the Ibus to the laptop via the cable) you will see this screen. Of course you have to turn your key to position 1 in the ignition (so the dash lights up) and that way the Navcoder software will start reading the IBus. Then select code and see below

Image

To start coding your Voice Recognition (after you have selected code telephone) you need to click Read ULF (Some cars do not have the SES module so this option may read TCU and normally they cannot be coded). Once the read has taken place you will need to place a tick in the box that says "Enable Voice Recognition". Once you have done this you click code ULF. When that is completed you can move on to to the next option.

Image

Should your Sat Nav turn to a foreign language when you turn off your speed camera alerts you need to follow the following instructions. Open this screen on the code option by selecting code Sat Nav on the main screen. You will need first to select read language. After this you need to make the primary language GB English with the secondary language US English and choose what ever you want for the third option. Once completed click code language.

Image

To code TV in motion open the code TV menu and click read TV. When you have done that emulate the picture above and then click code TV. Once you have done this you may find that you have to turn off the car and take the key out of ignition for these changes to take effect.

When I first started using Navcoder I did not have the correct drivers as I was using Vista (what a rubbish OS) and I found this useful http://www.siegenthaler.co.nz/navcoder/ ... Readme.txt

Also if for some reason it does not read IBus straight away make sure you have key in the igniton and the dash lit up and also you can change the com ports (in first Navcoder picture) or refresh and it should read.

There are other features on the NavCoder software that control things like the Light Control Module but I have had no reason to use them so am ignorant as to how they work. This is not supposed to be a disclaimer but everything on here is written in my own experience so there may be some inaccuracies but this is self taught so its my interpretation of how it works.

Its a great piece of kit and saves you money :D

Penny

Superb - thank-you.

Look forward to using your guide this weekend - and at long last my X5 losing the French connection! :D

So many things I could say..... But better not just incase it's not PC.

If you're rich enough to own an E70...... (jealous, that's all)

You cannot turn on VR on the E70 and there is no retrofit kit. If you don't have it, then it's tough I'm afraid. Alledgedly it needs a cable, a new mike, a different idrive controller, a special code from Munich and then the whole system recoded.......i.e. not Cheap!!

Re TV in motion I have no idea as I don't have the TV in mine, so I've enver researched it.
