Hi and thank you for looking at my post
I have a 2002 3.0D sport and i have a ton of blue smoke under acceleration been told it could be valve stem seals so added lub in to oil, also been told its turbo oil line blocked? And also could be piston rings which a read in another post, or oil breather blocked can someone help with a solution or am i looking at replacing everything mentioned

There is an oil separator that had a foam element in it on these that clogs and can cause blue smoke id change that first ,its on top of the engine at the back right side.

The oil separator was a known issue and affectionately known as the ‘bog roll’ type. It was changed to a solid vortex version in late 2003/early 2004. It’s fully compatible. You’ll need to get the top covers off the engine and this video might help: https://youtu.be/huROwqZbQac?feature=shared

Do not rebuild the valve as that’s just a waste of time. Just buy the vortex version. They don’t clog!

If you haven’t discovered Realoem yet, it’s the BMW parts database. It hasn’t been updated since Dec 2019 as BMW locked access to dealers only around then.
