Windscreen washer jets
Post by Big Bad Boris » Fri Apr 19, 2024 7:50 am
The question is can they be adjusted? I have looked and there doesn’t seem to be any obvious way, or is it more likely the reservoir needs a clean (I have read several stories about sludge in BMW washer reservoirs) or maybe the pump is not functioning at full power?
Any thoughts ?

I think you might be right, I did the same thing on my Z4, wasn’t too bad a job… it can’t have been even I managed it without breaking anythingAlan Gunn wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2024 6:23 am The dreaded black gunge.
Washer tank off was the only way for my clean out.

It it straight forward on the X3 or more of a faff”

For your other question, I have only used BMW Screenwash concentrate (bought in 5L containers) after using someone else’s and ending up with gunked nozzles and pumps in my E53 20 years ago. The OEM stuff contains Isopropyl Alcohol that stops bacterial growth (the white gunk) from growing. Smells nice too….![]()
Thanks, I will take a look, but algebra never was never my strong point at school

To solve your equation - Your car is an F25 version of the X3

Remove front right wheel (I only have something that says it’s in the right wing)….and for some reason the repeater indicator as well. I assume that would foul the bottle maybe?
Indicator removal: - special tool is a pair of credit card sized plastic trim tools.
