FRM Fault Codes

Post by EltonJohn101 » Sat Apr 06, 2024 4:21 pm

Hi guys,

Below i have attached fault codes from the footwell control module. Just wondering if anyone has any clue as to what these are and what I would need to replace.

BMW X1 E84 20D 2011 XDrive

Thank you.

FRM Fault Codes

Post by X5Sport » Sat Apr 06, 2024 8:09 pm

Looking the codes up on line - this one’s not bad - https://bmwfault.codes/

Code 00A8AA - low headlight beam fault. Could be an issue with adaptive headlight if fitted?
Code 009CBA - LIN Bus disturbed - possible wiring issue, usually affect door card buttons for mirrors etc.
Code 00A8AD - side marker (sidelight faulty). Linked with the 00A8AA code.
Code 009CC5 - side mirror fault. Could be wiring and is linked to the 009CBA code.

The first three codes look to be historic - as in not present now - so try clearing them and see if they return. The last code is current - as in present at the moment.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

FRM Fault Codes

Post by EltonJohn101 » Mon Apr 08, 2024 11:30 pm

Oh Perfect, I will clear them and see which pops back up.

It’s a little strange as I have no problems with the side mirrors, or any of my interior electronics. The only issue im facing is, when I try to access the FRM via BimmerCode to code it, I get an error message regarding a “critical error”.

Attached an image below. I’m wondering whether it could do with removing a reprogramming/a hard reset?
